"I Value Hispanic Heritage Month," Says Georgetown Man Who Never Tips When He Buys Pupusas
National Hispanic Heritage Month is a period from September 15 to October 15 recognizing the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. Jordan Smith, who moved from his hometown Iowa to Georgetown, says he values Hispanic Heritage Month. He also never tips when he buys pupusas.
“Growing up I didn’t have Hispanic friends. Weird, right? However I completely appreciate everything Hispanic Americans have done to our country,” said Jordan while entering into a Honduran restaurant. “The pupusas here are so good. And they are so cheap. Leaving a tip? No, there’s no need. They are doing pretty well.”
“I’ve been using Duolingo for a couple of weeks now. I feel it’s important to learn Spanish given the amount of Hispanic people in our country. And that’s totally fine,” said Jordan while someone was knocking at his door. “Every other week a volunteer for the non-profit Ayuda walks around my neighborhood. Donating to them? No, there’s no need. They are doing so well”.
At the time of publication Jordan was looking through the Hispanic food aisle at Giant. He didn’t buy anything.
